Our Programs

Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County provides after-school programs for youth ages 5-12 every day at all of our 15 locations, and for ages 13-18 at our Elizabeth, Plainfield and Union locations. Research shows that this time of day is when kids are most vulnerable to the influence of gangs, violence, and other risky behaviors. We keep youth safe and off the streets, and we give them dynamic opportunities to shape their future.

Since every location is different, please call your local club to see which programs are offered there.
Aquatics Department
Held at the Union Club, we have everything from Youth Swim Lessons to our own Swim Team. It's never to late (or early) to learn how to swim!
Athletic Leagues
All athletic leagues are operated out of our Union Club. There, your child can participate in Basketball, Soccer, Tee-ball and more!
Bike Exchange Program
The Bike Exchange is a not-for-profit bike shop that gives old bikes a new life, encourages sustainable transportation, and supports the local community. Located at our Plainfield Club.
Character & Leadership
Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs.
Education & Career
These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.
Health & Lifeskills
These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts & Technology
Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
