Welcome Demond Hargrove, Ph.D. to BGCUC Board of Directors
September 14, 2018— Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County is pleased to announce the appointment of Demond Hargrove, Ph.D. to their Board of Directors. Demond is Vice President for Student Development at Union County College. Dr. Hargrove holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration & Leadership from Seton Hall University, a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from NJCU, and earned his B.S. in Political Science at Jersey City State College.
Dr. Hargrove is a published author who has made presentations to professional organizations and student leadership programs regarding student retention, goal setting, leadership development, and emergency management. He has also developed minority male empowerment programs designed to promote the healthy development, persistence, academic achievement, and attainment of college men.
“Demond brings experience in youth development through his work at Union County College.” said Russell Triolo, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County. “We are looking forward extending our partnership with the college to bring new programs to our members.
“I am excited to be a part of the Board and the proactive mission of BGCUC,” Demond Hargrove said. “As a product of a Boys & Girls Club, I understand the meaning impact the organization has on the lives of youth.”
Back to School Program registration is open at our Union, Elizabeth, Plainfield and Roselle Clubs. Teen leadership programs for ages 14-18 are available in Union, Elizabeth and Plainfield. Members participate in character, leadership, career preparation and community service activities throughout the year. Aquatics is available at our Union Club.
