BGCUC TEENS PREPARE FOR LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Erin Duffy
May 24, 2018
Club News

Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County’s Keystone Club (Teen Leadership) will be journeying to the National Keystone Conference at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia on June 22-24. This year, 25 deserving members have been selected to attend the conference based on their involvement in activities and community service throughout the year. Local heroes like you can help support our teens by sponsoring a member on their journey to the National Keystone Conference! Your individual or company sponsorship will allow a member to attend, continue to strengthen the results of our Keystone Club, and make their futures bright! A $750 donation covers conference registration, lodging, ground transportation, and baggage fees for one member.

“We are so proud of our Keystone Club members and their accomplishments”, said Russell Triolo, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County. “National Keystone Conference is a wonderful opportunity for teen members to engage with peers and discuss issues affecting them.”

Keystone Club is the Boys & Girls Clubs’ teen leadership program, which allows members ages 14-18 to gain valuable leadership skills and service experience. The program focuses on three main areas: Academic Success, Career Exploration, and Community Service. Keystone’s overall goal is to have a positive impact on members, the Boys & Girls Clubs, and the community with the help of adult advisers. At Keystone’s heart are the ideals of character and leadership development. Members learn first-hand the importance of exhibiting compassion, tolerance, responsibility, and citizenship.

At the National Keystone Conference members will have the opportunity to meet with other bright, like-minded Keystone members from around the world to share ideas, celebrate their accomplishments, learn about important issues that impact teens today (such as cyber bullying, smart relationships, and safe social media use), and work together on a large scale community service project. Your support gives our members a once in a lifetime opportunity that they will never forget!

Thank you in advance for your support. For more information please call (908)687-7976 ext. 111.
